'My presence will go with you and I will give you rest.'
Moses needed to know from God, who was going to go with him to lead the people.
He knew he couldn't do it alone.
Moses then went on to say "I will only go If you come with me" he knew that there was absolutely no point to go ahead in this great mission of leading the children of Israel out of Egypt, if God wasn’t with him.
Moses could not have done all that he did without the presence of God.
This week I was reminded of the wedding in Cana
Jesus was at the wedding and all was well until the wine ran out. Jesus didn’t get flustered. He didn’t panic. He just asked the servants to go fill jars of water.
He chose to use the people in front of him, but it was his presence that changed the water into wine.
Mary, Jesus mother knew that Jesus presence at that wedding was enough.
Jesus wants and desires for us to come to him, to be intimate with him. He wants us to invite Him to walk with us through our daily lives.
When we belong to Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit within us so wherever we go, we change the atmosphere. We change those around us, because the presence of God is in us and with us.
The Same God, who led the children of Israel out of Egypt. The same God who parted the red Sea. The same God who provided manner and Quail in the wilderness is the same God, today!
He wants you to know that He is more than enough for you right now. He wants you to know today that his presence will go with you wherever you go.
Today, ask him to show you his presence. Be aware of his closeness.
Take time to experience Jesus closeness today. Read this passage of the wedding in Cana in John Ch 2 slowly and picture yourself at the wedding, picture yourself standing next to Jesus.
What does his physical presence feel like? Notice how does it feels to be so close to him?
What do you notice about the atmosphere around you?
2 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4 “Woman,[a] why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[b]
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
You can ask Jesus to show you His presence as you walk through your day today.
Invite him into every situation or circumstance. I hope you will see things so differently and will look at your situation differently.
A blessing
I bless your eyes to see Jesus so close to you
I bless your mind with His peace
I bless your heart to know Jesus abundant love
I bless your body that you will know HIs healing touch
I bless your homes that every room will be flooded with His light
What a critical message Ang! I love the line: "He chose to use the people in front of him, but it was his presence that changed the water". He can use people any situation, but it's always His presence that makes lasting and consequential changes in hearts and minds and lives.
Thank you for this wonderful reminder and encouragement - He is indeed the same GOD yesterday, today, and forever. What a blessing this message is to me Sis!
