“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.”
Psalms 19:1-4 NIV
What beautiful truthful words!
Most mornings I wake up and walk. It’s my treasured time with God.
Every morning the sky speaks of Gods glory!
It’s not always full of colour, often at the start of my walk it’s dark so I can see twinkling stars. Then as my walk progresses I look up and the clouds are grey and threatening.
On other days the clouds part and a shaft of light breaks through with different shades of blue.
My favourite mornings are when the sky is ablaze like fire as the sun rises on a new day.
This past week I found myself yearning to walk after work too and I have the privilege to live and work near the sea.
As I walked the sun was about to set and the sky turned pink and the hues of pink were reflecting on the sea.
I thought the sea is reflecting the glory of the sky.
It made me start to think of how our lives need to reflect the glory of God.
Just like the skies that were created by God we are Gods creation.
We are Gods image bearers.
We are to reflect His glory through the way we live our lives.
Through the way we act and not react!
The only way to be a true reflection of Him is to spend time in His presence talking and listening to Him.
Spending time in feasting on His word.
“When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.”
Exodus 34:29 NIV
Moses was radiant because he had been with God.
The world is pretty dark right now we as the body of Christ need to stand together and be reflecting God in all we do and say.
God of all glory fill your people afresh
With your Holy Spirit.
May we run into your presence
And stay so close to you that your light radiates off us to those who need you.
Amen
