Be still

The sun had risen it was shining so brightly.

I felt it’s warmth on my face as I walked into the clear sea.

The icy coldness crept up my body as I waded deeper.

As I launched myself into the sea and swam, I just wanted to keep swimming towards the warmth of the sun.

I wanted to be alone so I went in the opposite direction of my fellow early morning swimmers.

It was just me,the ocean and God

I felt at peace, My body was wide awake my face and eyes still felt sleepy so I went under the water.

My mind was now alert!

I thanked God for the sun and his creation but then just kept moving my body!

No words were needed as the water held me up, it was all so still.

A fellow swimmer shouted “seal”

The black shiny head popped up a few feet away then it’s mates head appeared along side.

Our creator God has given us so much beauty to enjoy in this world.

How often do we miss enjoying the colour or the smells because we have been too busy?

God is challenging me to just ‘be’ not to strive.

Psalm. 46 : 10 says ‘Be still and know that I am God’

Being is not my natural character trate! I am a doer! .

So I am still learning!!!

I am starting to grasp the fact that God loves me even when I am just floating on the water or walking in His creation. Not praying or studying His word ( there is times for that!!) but there is always place for just being in his presence enjoying his closeness.

Take a moment now to be still.

Breathe deeply. Look out the window or walk through a park. Really notice your surroundings.

Be in Gods presence. God is omnipresent there is no place that God isn’t. Be silent stop your meandering thoughts.

Rest and Reset.

Be still and know that I am God.
