Have you ever thought about how big and majestic and holy God is??
He is the creator of all things-
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1
He rules -
“God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.”
Psalms 47:8 NIV
God who is all of the above still calls us into his presence , us humans who mess up daily and are definitely not holy or worthy enough to stand in front of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Or is that just me??
I am so thankful for Jesus!
Jesus when he died poured out his precious redeeming blood out to cleanse us and make us righteous
so that we can boldly stand in-front of God and speak with Him and worship Him.
The song by Jarred Coker
‘King of kings majesty’ puts it perfectly.
Your majesty, I can but bow,
I lay my all before you now.
In royal robes, I don’t deserve
I live to serve your majesty.
You know the story of the prodigal son?
He took his inheritance whilst his father was still alive and squandered it on wild living ( Luke 15: 13
He came to his senses and went back to his father
and said “ I am no longer worthy to be called your son”
His fathers response was the opposite of what the son expected
He said “ Quick bring the best robe and put it on him….”
I believe that robe was a symbol of a covering over of all the wrong the son had done to his father.
That robe symbolised forgiveness and status. He was back in the family.
I wonder how the son lived after that, I am pretty sure he lived a life of thankfulness and a life of service, wanting only to please his father .
Just like the prodigal son’s father wanted his son back into his family so that they could be in a loving relationship. We are invited into an intimate relationship with the Holy Trinity.
Jesus death and resurrection covers us in a robe of love and forgiveness making us worthy to be in Gods family.
When we grasp that ,we can’t help but respond in awe. Giving God our worship, our adoration our service our all. This is not to earn his favour as we already have that but it’s just giving to Him what He deserves.
Ephesians encourages us to live like this -
“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children,
walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Ephesians 5:1-2
Then again a reminder on how to live
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.”
Ephesians 5:8-10 NIV
Let us give God all the praise and worship He deserves by living a life pleasing to Him.
AMEN, AMEN, AMEN! Oh how much I've been forgiven by the love, mercy, and grace of God through the blood of Jesus
