‘Anyone can find the dirt in a person be the one who finds the gold!’
I started to think of this quote this morning and a picture came to mind of gold panning.
To pan for gold takes patience you take your pan you put it in the sandy water not over filling it then you lift it out and you discard the big rocks that may have come into your bowl. You take any clumps of mud out and then you start to shake your pan ,you sift through the sand until you see tiny speckles of gold.
We have a daily choice as we go through our lives to look for the speckles of gold in people we meet. In the places we work. In the places we worship!
People can rub us up the wrong way, they can hurt us with their words or actions.
We can choose to see the good or focus on the dirt!!
If we focus on the dirt in someone that is all we will see. If we look for the gold, it will outshine the dirt.
When we find the gold we then bring that gold out of them! How?
By encouraging them, by building them up.
When we do this that gold shines brighter.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
AMEN! What a great life principle Ang and a habit I need to practice daily - by remembering God's amazing grace towards me.
